My PC is completely fucked, managed to get XP installed however it won't detect my ethernet port to connect to the net and it won't allow my wireless card to find ANY network...

Im up for doing this, if anyone wants to do a practice run or try out ships in formations im free today and tomorrow.

also what are we using? basic Tie fighters with mk 1 equipment or ANY tie fighter with our equipment?

That is what I meant to do on saturday/sunday, we try out the things we came up with, (bypassing some of the game's limitations, ideas to make roleplay more immersive, ideas by me and Jon) including introduction of the ground->space procedure and the actual first space RP. That is also why I wanted all of us to be there.

Please get a TIE Interceptor ready for roleplay, no fancy fitting is required, just make sure it can be used to fly and has a green laser weapon. And Synn when can you get on SWG earliest, I really want to do this with all of us.

Swg won't take long to update, I Backed up all my patch files from when I quit, only the officer + entertainer updates need to be downloaded

Not risking updating the GFX card just yet until i can sort all my MB Chipset drivers sorted.... can't find the fucking cd...

but so far the Pc runs Swat4, L4D2 (However very slowly) and SWG is currently updating....

Tie-Advanced is a one of a kind prototype for Vader

Oppressor / Agressor are over-rated and shit,



Low-Mass ships are the way forward, Interceptor gets my vote time and time again!

As for the X1 prototypes, not only vader tested a prototype. Multiple X1s were manufactured. I will refer to a paragraph from Captain Daero's bio:

"Demor graduated from the special program on the Naval College at age 25, and was short after assigned a new ship. It was an experimental prototype under the alias 'x1'. The TIE-Advanced, an interceptor class ship, two pilots were chosen to intensively test the ships during their careers while it was being improved. Demor was one of the two. The TIE Advanced was superior to any other fighter the Imperial Navy ever used. A problem however was that it was a complicated and very expensive ship to build. However it proved extremely useful, the ship was too expensive for mass production. After three years of trial and error, the TIE Advanced prototypes were cleaned of most of their bugs and flaws, but the project was aborted to develope a less performing, less costy version of the ship, the TIE Interceptor. As token of appreciation, Demor was allowed to keep the x1 prototype to use in his further career"

lol synn, Aggressor and Oppressor arent shit, even I have gotten PvP kills in them. Its only the oppy that is overated because people treat it as a 3 tube fighter. Its a 3 tube bomber designed for turnfighting inties and jousting BIG stuff.

I can tell you right now, between the advanced and the aggressor i know which one i prefere.

and yes there were multiple X1 prototypes as well as X2 and X3 up to X5 i believe.

but fluffyness about the above put aside, I can understand Interceptors being used with maybe a an Oppressor as the special forces' bomber. though most will probably want the Tie Bomber.

The Oppressor was supposed to serve as the Shadow Corp's bomber, we would originally have two flights within our squadron, one being a fighter flight and the other a bomber flight.

Something like this: (replace the word wing with flight)



But I was thinking too big and decided to start with solely a fighter flight, (interceptors).

Maybe it's an idea to have one bomber pilot within our squadron as for now. Let me know what you all think of it. As for the picture above, it was a plan for the future, we are not big enough to do such thing right now.

I would say have it like this:

0-1 Flight leader: Tie Advanced?

1 Wing Commander: Tie Interceptor
1-3 Wingmen: Tie Interceptor

0-1 Support Craft: Bomber or Aggressor, Oppressor for specialised missions.

0-1 Heavy Support: Deci

0-1 Gunboats: YE-4

But if we are doing only a small flight then all you need in a wing commander and wing men. But regardless, I'm volunteering to be the bomber/PoB/GB pilot of the group, Those who've seen my ships' interiors will know how well i decorate them. I'll be on tonight if people want a guided tour.

Yep, that was the structure I was refering to. Although we are still a little low on numbers, we could already start with a fighter flight leader with two wingmen, and a bomber flightleader solo. I currently have Nekrah Amarog in mind as Fighter flightleader due to her being a well trained pilot, and perhaps Zavier Frost as bomber flightleader as you stated you don't mind what you're flying that much.
