Character Biography - Demor Daero

However the Daero Family consisted mainly of beaurucrats, Demor's uncle Drake was a respected hunter and exterminator. Drake was a member of the Dearic Wild Supression Association. A unit hired by the local community counsils, to protect the inhabitants of Dearic and surroundings from wild animal threats. Drake often asked his cousin Demor to join him during the hunting trips, which sometimes lasted more than three days, tracking down predators to the last of their pack. During these trips, Demor was taught the tricks of the trade, he accompanied his uncle Drake carrying and handling the rifle while his uncle did the tracking. Hunting was a hobby Demor used to vent his frustrations.

As Demor got older, he witnessed the foundation of the Galactic Empire, and was indoctrinated by it's idealogies. Life with his parents was not easy, they tried to raise their son with discipline guided by imperial standards, but Demor had a fiery spirit, and not being able to vent his anger and frustrations from time to time led to devestating furies. One of the reasons for this was his force-sensitivity. Demor didn't know why he appeared a 'natural talent' (as his uncle described) in sharpshooting. But as a force sensitive, his senses and reflexes were more developed than those of most of the other hunters. Demor's abilities had a downside though, not aware of his 'gift', and thus never trained in controlling it, Demor could be impulsive, aggressive and reckless.

At the age of 17 Demor started to observe more than just the predators he was supposed to terminate. During the nights - camping with his uncle Drake - Demor could spend hours watching the skies which had filled with bright colory particles, shiny shapes and nebula's on top of a pitch black field. It was an inspiration for Demor to start painting. By observing and painting the starry nights his interest for anything space related grew, which eventually led to Demor signing up for the Imperial Naval College on age 19.

When Demor eventually enlisted in the Imperial Acadamy, to start his military career, he had a hard time adjusting. From his youngest years, Demor had discipline issues, problems and frustrations he used to deal with by hunting and painting. Now he was bound to a the Academy and had no freedom to practice his former hobbies. It often resulted in confrontations between Demor and his superiors. Fortunately Demor's father was a bureaucrate with respectful relationship towards the Empire allowing him to prevent Demor from being kicked out of the academy. Despite his efforts, Demor spent three years longer gaduating from the Imperial Academy than the average recruit.

After graduating from the Imperial Academy, still fascinated by the wonders of space, Demor signed up at the Naval College on the planet of Anaxes. After being a cadet for several months Demor was surprised to recieve a notification from high command. He was sponsored to take part in more advanced training courses. Who had recommended him was a mystery, it wasn't his father as he had always encouraged Demor to sign up for the Officer's Candicy Training instead of becoming a pilot. Demor accepted the offer and Demor established a reputation quickly. Known as a top student, who gets the job done in his own way. Sometimes more unorthodox than expected by his superiors. Demor took risks that rarely crossed the minds of his co-students. Risks that had costed the lifes of many of his co-students. Demor still had negative encounters with his instructors, they did not agree on how Demor dealt with his training missions, although always accomplished more efficient than the other students would have. His instructors often sent reports of Demor's 'Reckless, and disloyal behaviour' to the higher ranked Lieutenant, the same person that elected Demor to enlist in the Naval College, but requests for punishment or expellment were always silently denied.

Demor graduated from the special program on the Naval College at age 25, and was short after assigned a new ship. It was an experimental prototype under the alias 'x1'. The TIE-Advanced, an interceptor class ship, two pilots were chosen to intensively test the ships during their careers while it was being improved. Demor was one of the two. The TIE Advanced was superior to any other fighter the Imperial Navy developed. A problem however was that it was a complicated and very expensive ship to build. However it proved extremely useful, the ship was too expensive for mass production. After three years of trial and error, the TIE Advanced prototypes were cleaned of most of their bugs and flaws, but the project was aborted to develope a less performing, less costy version of the ship, the TIE Interceptor. As token of appreciation, Demor was allowed to keep the x1 prototype to use in his further career.

For years he led different types of flights, wings and eventually squadrons. A few months after he was promoted to the rank of Captain (age 34), Demor was summoned by his superiors and briefed on a new type of special operations unit, a unit he would soon be part of.
