Storm Commando armor
Can we have it? SOE said no, I said yes. Who is your god now?

This little modification will replace the Camoflage scout trooper armor with a desaturated and darkened version of the standard scout trooper armor, which matches the spec ops armor in color quite well. (better than the storm commando crap textures that were already ingame). Only issue at the moment is a visor with over 9000 reflectivity value, I might have an idea what the problem is, currently waiting for feedback from an expert modder to find out how to solve it. The visor looks pretty cool unintentionally though, during night it has this green blue-ish tint.
Will try to fix it though, and will update the mod.
Installation: Simply extract the file to your SWG directory. (Or extract anywhere and copy the 'texture' folder to your swg directory).
For the not knowing: We want to offer imperial spec ops members the opportunity to use this armor (camo scout) as it is a lot easier to obtain, and we can even help with that. This way our members are not forced to go on the months taking horrible gcw grind :p

Nice mod work buddy, keep up the good work! Shame that the SWG team haven't included it in-game....

It looks good, but it's a mod, not everyone can see it and you can't expect or insist everyone uses the mod, i for one will never use a mod ever.

I am aware of this, and that is why I explicitly decided to use the camo scout armor for this (which we meant to use at first). Someone seeing the troops in camo armor is just fine, aswell as seeing them in black armor. We have an opportunity to use armor that goes well with the spec ops armor, (and even better with the mod).

They also can corrupt your client and make you have to dl the whole game again like the spined rancor appearance mod did, it was working fine then we got a patch which included an updated skin for a spined rancor when they added the mutation and poof the mood caused patch issues which corrupted my patch files and i couldnt update at all even after rmeoving the mod, so i had to reinstall
I would highly recomend before downloading any patches at all to remove your mods, then patch, then reinstall the mods.

Re: Storm Commando armor
Hmm I've been using a huge mod (ILM) that vastly improves graphics and some other effects of the game for a long time now and there was a problem only once, when SOE made some big space update. The very same day after few hours an update for the mod was released and all was fixed. I must admit I can't imagine playing SWG now without ILM, it's just a totally different game for me lol. And the mod files are just totally new folders in the game's directory, uninstalling the mod couldn't be simpler - just removing the folders. Same goes for Mo's armor mod.
And even if it came to the worst and I'd have to reinstall SWG once in a long period - then it's not such a big deal, providing one has all his personal settings saved. I anyway had to reinstall SWG after getting a new comp and it's probably gonna happen again in the future, it's not that uncommon, right?
I am not trying to make anyone a mod lover here, I am just a bit surprised to see such hatred or maybe even fear for mods
This game is far from perfect in present times, it sure could've been improved much more during all those years of it's operation, so if some ppl do it and it works - then why not try it? And Mo's little mod is just a small addition to boost our RP a bit. Just as Mo said we surely won't make ppl use it but I'd at least advice all Shadow Troopers unit members to try it out - its effect is really great. And as I said it is not something that attacks original game files and mutates them, the mod just adds few files in a totally new folders, easily removable in case of not wanting the mod anymore.
