Question mate, are you able to soon start hosting roleplay, as the head of Imperial - Ground? If so, give me a date please. We decided last night that I could host a little bit of ground in a ground CO's absense, as placeholder, just so we can get RP kicked off. The only things I hear about you, is what I hear others saying, I'd like an update if possible, we need you :p

Ok it's a bit of a mess, just remembered what I could. Luckily I kept the rank list on my desktop so that is also below. It's all open for disucussion mainly just the basic outline of plans. I will split this up into more organised and detail section in time. @Mocane I do plan to become more active IG shortly, most likely when my new charger arrives. P.S. Tyraan was pulling your leg I do not want the nickname Commander lol so feel free to have it Razz.

Colour is Orange because I don't think the default colour scheme makes it very nice for reading large blocks of text Smile.

Storm Corp : 343rd Platoon.

Introduction:
Our Storm Corp division will begin as the 343rd platoon, a member of the 282nd Company based on Naboo. A platoon realistically contains 25ish to 50ish soldiers, it is typically led by a junior officer, and this will suit us until we expand in which case we can upgrade to a Company where I feel it will most likely stay.

Rank System:
I have used the rank system proposed by Jeraan, he found true canon ranks for the storm corps in a source book he owns.

Storm Corp Ranks:

Army General Officers:

Grand general 0-14

High General 0-13
Field Marshal 0-12
General
Lieutenant General
Major General
Brigadier General

Army Senior Officers:

Colonel
Lieutenant General
Major
Captain

Army Junior Officers:

Lieutenant
2nd Lieutenant
Senior warrant officer 0-1
Junior warrant officer

Enlisted:

Command Sergeant Major E-11
Sergeant Major - E10
Senior Sergeant - E9
First sergeant - E8
Master Sergeant - E7
Staff sergeant - E6
Sergeant - E5
Cpl - E4
LCpl - E3
PFC - E2
Private - E1
Prospect

Responsibilities + Abilities:

Certain ranks will have certain responsibilities just like before; some responsibilities are realistic to what the rank would entail in real life whereas some are just for our benefit.

Basic Squad Structure:

Sergeant: May lead a squad, all members of that squad are his responsibility to keep disciplined and well trained.

Corporal: May be ordered to lead a fire team or training session, takes responsibility of the squad if the squad leader is not present for a period of time. Should help the squad leader as much as possible in regards to ensuring all members of the squad know what they are doing.

LCpl: Can act as a middle man between the squad leader and the squad members in regards to help/queries, should help out where he can. Should set an example for the lower ranks.

PFC: Upon reaching PFC a squad member may apply for AWD.

Private: Expected to follow orders, is considered a fully fledged member of the storm-corps and is treated as such.

Other Ranks:

Staff Sergeant: Usually leads a squad, however staff sergeants often specialise in other areas outside of squad command e.g. recruit training.

Other Sergeant Ranks: Other sergeant ranks are granted to acknowledge service and ability, their role is very similar to base sergeant rank however they pull more weight in the chain of command.

Sergeant Major: Acts as the middle man between the officers and the squads, they can manage the squads and should ensure they are all kept well trained and prepared at all times.

Other systems:

Prospects:

Prospects are assigned to a training instructor, typically a staff sergeant. It is the training instructor’s duty to test and prepare the prospect(s) assigned to him over a period of at least 5 days. The instructor will be teaching the prospect(s) the basic principles of our storm corps as well as teaching and testing them OOC on our RP rules and other devices. When the 5 days is past the instructor may continue to test/train his pupils or send a report to his CO describing the individual(s) he has been training and his judgement, from what is said it is then decided by the CO whether the prospect is rejected or accepted into the ranks of the storm corps. Upon initiation he will be receive his storm trooper armour.

Chain of Command:

The idea that all ranks lead downward and everyone has a place, the most important principle within this is that IC if a private has a query about when his next training session is to be with his squad he contacts his next superior in rank, in this case a PFC in his squad, if the PFC does not know he can go higher and so on. This is opposed to the private contacting a Grand General directly. Having a system like this in place lifts the weight from the shoulders of squad leaders for example and shares the load across all members efficiently also allowing other members of squads to feel more responsibility.

AWD – Advanced Weapon Designations:

Each squad will have a certain number of active AWD’s in it, whether this be a support gunner or anti armour soldier. When a soldier reaches the rank of PFC they may look at what AWD’s are free in the squad and apply to train for them. E.g. if Squad A is missing a second support gunner PFC B may request his squad leader for permission to train for this role. The training will typically be instructed by a corporal or squad leader in his squad, alternatively by a specialised training instructor.

Weekly Event Structure:

Each week a squad leader is expected to take command of his squad roughly 3 times, this could either be to carry out training or to plan missions for him to lead his troops in. Squad leaders are completely in control of how often his squad take part in these activities, they can plan as many as they want and can even give control to a corporal and have him lead a patrol or training as long as they stick to the rough 3 day outlines or more, they should fill calendars planning forward to allow their members to give feedback on what dates and times are good for them. Above this you have the Sergeant Major, he keeps an eye on the activity of squad leaders and ensures they are not leaving players dead in the water. Generally I would like the policy of if you say your going to be away for a while fair enough the Sergeant Major can arrange a replacement to take your place while you’re gone and you can take your role back upon returning assuming this is viable however just disappearing without saying will be frowned upon. Apart from policing these principles it will also be his responsibility to plan events that may encompass more than one squad. Replacement does not always mean being promoted a corporal could run a squad temporarily. Although the Sergeant Major does control these things ultimately he is under the jurisdiction of the officers and must follow their orders on these matters, Officers play the same role in this principle as the Sergeant Major however they must pass these plans through him. OOC all members no matter what rank may suggest a idea for a mission or event to the Sergeant Major.

Squad loadouts, OOC and RP:

Squad leader: <yet to be planned>

Stormtrooper: <yet to be planned>

Prospect: <yet to be planned>

Types of AWD: <yet to be planned>

I have to say I like that it will be a Seargants responsibility to take his squad out 3 times a week, it will ensure smaller rp experiences while other people can work on the events.

Great stuff Tius, looks like a good base for StormCorps. (martial = mashal?)

Did Luci explain that we are planning on going to start off as Shadow Troopers (being our spec ops unit)? I assume you are aware of this, and mean to use part of the documentation you wrote in the ShadowCorps, untill we've grown enough to have a StormCorps? If this is not your intention, could you tell us what you have in mind Smile?

Sate was meant to pass the message, when he was talking to you on teamspeak a few weeks ago. Mad

Someone needs a beating.

@Tius, contact me when you get on SWG so we can work it out, and I can explain what we thought of so far.
