Off-SWG Chatroom?

Anyone else getting a little sick of logging into SWG to find there's nothing to do? or just sit around with noone else online?


Just a random thought, what if we were to create a chatroom on the lovely little program of mIRC? some plus points?

its nice and easy to do,
allows us to keep in touch when we bugger off to differnet games
allows us to organise play sessions on OTHER games, i know me jon and teu have been playing SWAT4 / L4D2 lately

and i'm sure there's some other good points over it,

What does everyone else think of this?

I like the idea of a mIRC chatroom as a place where one can go and check if any other ppl are on without the need to log on to SWG. One might say it even more draws us away from SWG but what community activity is there really left in the game? When there is RP announced on the forum ppl will come anyway and apart from that - all attempts to do anything OOCly together failed due to overall low activity so we might as well play other games...

I'll be able to set a channel up on the undernet servers (i think i still remember how to do it) and have run one and been a "op" in countless other channels..


if i can get the Cservice website to fuck up and work, i'll start the ball rolling, gonna need 5 - 10 other registered users to make sure we keep the place however...

thats the website, you won't be able to use a hotmail / yahoo email account however, thats the only pain in the ass thing about it....

I can get us a free TS channel as before and steam is not bad either.

Lol me and Teuren also came to this conclusion at some point but decided not to bring it up since no one ever seemed interested in actually using the chat here

can't really idle in the online one, and makes browsing the forums a pain in the ass

and I believe this chatbox we have does not really save its history, atleast it looked like that from last time I was there, nice thing about IRC is that the latest # of lines are saved.
