The Local Courts Bill, to be introduced next week, reads: "Any person who vitiates the atmosphere in any place so as to make it noxious to the public to the health of persons in general dwelling or carrying on business in the neighbourhood or passing along a public way, shall be guilty of a misdemeanour."

Well in polite English society it is practically illegal to fart in public, I save them up for public toilets...

No mate, in polite english society it is customary to let it rip with as much gusto as often as possible (especially in lifts!) in the hopes of kicking off a farting competition. It's only in prudish society that it's not done :p
